Mitsubishi to build on megasite
Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas Inc. will locate a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on a portion of the Pooler megasite, ultimately creating 500 jobs and investing $325 million.
Gov. Sonny Perdue and Mitsubishi Power Systems senior vice president Dave Walsh are expected to make the announcement today at the plant’s ground-breaking near the intersections of Interstates 95 and 16.
Mitsubishi will produce advanced steam and gas turbines on the site and also will service turbines and related components for power generation. The Pooler plant, which will be constructed in three phases, will serve the company’s customers in North and South America.
